DC Summer Fun: Outdoor Rooftop BBQs

Make 4th of July extra magical this year with a rooftop company picnic

Life is busy and summer can fly by in the blink of an eye. A quick activity combination can do a lot of good for simplifying plans and helping people squeeze some lovely down time into their busy schedules. This year, consider combining your company’s 4th of July picnic with a rooftop barbeque celebration to save time and amplify the fun.

If your company’s building is in a nice location, consider using the rooftop to host your picnic. If the surroundings leave something to be desired, look into renting a rooftop venue around D.C.’s National Mall area. Being near the Mall allows your company event to expand onto the lawn, where there’s sure to be incredible music and merriment.

This year’s event will feature famous Full House favorite John Stamos as host, and offer all-star musical performances by Jimmy Buffett, The Beach Boys, Pentatonix, The Temptations, Luke Combos, Lauren Alaina, CeCe Winans, Joshua Bell, and Jack Everly with the National Symphony Orchestra. Visit pbs.org to learn more about the evening’s scheduled activities!

There truly is no place to be like Washington D.C. on the 4th of July! Visit Washington.org to see all of the events planned for this year’s Independence Day extravaganza, and plan your day to the fullest.

Best of all–and what will really set the night apart–is your breathtaking view. lf you’re able to have a rooftop BBQ, you’ll also have a front-row seat to a truly spectacular fireworks show! Plan a post-fireworks dessert bar featuring some summer favorites to avoid the crowds and enjoy a more leisurely commute home at the end of the evening. These 30 treats from Country Living are not only patriotic–they’re delicious, too!

Wishing everyone a happy, wonderful and safe 4th of July weekend!
