The close of summer is a little bittersweet. Bitter because we say goodbye to longer daytime hours, warm sunshine, poolside lounging and beach getaways; but sweet because fall brings with it so much to look forward to as well.
Looking ahead, there are plenty of fun and interesting things to do locally this weekend. Have you made your Labor Day plans yet? Rocklands Farm is hosting a Music-Filled Labor Day Weekend with a talented lineup of musical guests, wine tastings and food vendors. The fun starts Friday at 6pm and goes through Monday—be sure to visit their website for more information. Can’t make it this weekend? Check out their music and food vendor calendar to plan a future trip.
A bit later, on September 30th there is a Ride for the Reserve Fall Farm Bike Tour (featuring a delicious lunch served at Kingsbury Orchard) hosted by Montgomery Countryside Alliance. Make plans to breathe in the crisp fall air, get some exercise, and take in the incredible scenery of rolling farmland with friends. You’ll find fully-stocked refreshment stops along the way and have a great opportunity to connect with local farmers.
Finally, don’t forget to stop by the Bethesda Central Farm Market whenever your schedule allows. As one of the largest markets in the region, they are fully stocked with fresh produce offerings from over 100 vendors. Throughout the year, they offer music, wine and brewery tastings, chef demonstrations and kids club activities.
