Josh Carin, Geppetto Catering, Inc.
  • It is hard to believe that winter is almost here. It feels like just yesterday that I was barbecuing chicken outside on the grill. As the year comes to an end, I keep thinking of how much we appreciate all of our customers. You mean so much to us and we want to thank all of you for your business.
  • We're happy to say that Geppetto Catering, Inc. has rebranded with a new look and logo. After 20 years, Pinocchio finally retired. We felt that the new look reflects who we are today; a company that provides a robust menu in a sophisticated and classic way. Please visit our new website: and enjoy the images of our wonderful food, new menu items, videos, and our easy to access on-line ordering system. Be sure to send us your comments and questions via our Twitter and Facebook. We love hearing from you!
  • As we enter this season of celebration, I have included some simple etiquette tips that you may find helpful when you visit friends at the many holiday parties you attend. Speaking of holiday events, please give us a call if we can assist you plan your celebration. From venue selection to a simple office reception, we can help. If you are looking for a cost effective option, then consider holding your party in January when venues are more apt to strike a deal when times are slow.
  • I have included a link to the DC Central Kitchen. As we think of giving this time of year, I hope you will consider a gift to this wonderful organization.
  • I hope that you enjoy the etiquette tips, recipe for the apple tarts, and our updated look and web site. We wish you all the best in the upcoming season and we truly appreciate all that you have done to support our business. We are always a phone call away.

Attending a Dinner?

Tips You May Find Helpful:

  • The most important thing: Be sure to RSVP and show up on time!
  • •Avoid flowers or keep them all white. Usually the hostess has vases already full and your selection may not match the decor.
  • •A bottle of wine could be a green choice. Buy local. Be sure to wrap it and adhere a small card letting the hostess know who it's from.
  • •Unscented soaps, fine chocolates, or beautiful note cards can work as well.
  • •Make it personal. Give your host their favorite brand of tea or smoked salmon.
  • •Geppetto Preference:Give a specialty bottle of olive oil.
  • •Bonus Tip: After you have attended the party, always send a hand written thank you note. Use plain Crane's stationary and spend time picking the stamps.
